Mystro Raps Up 2011

Posted in mystro, UK HIP HOP with tags on January 11, 2012 by figmentuk

Yes, yes! Mr. Mys-Diggi, The Natural Born Spitta has released a video for his 2011 UK Rap-Up.

Mystro’s first foray into summing up an entire year’s worth of life in The U.K started in 2009 and has since become a regular release with a 2010 version and now we have the highly anticipated 2011 edition.

Among the mentions this year are the Andy Gray/Richard Keys scandal, X-Factor contestents Misha B & winners Little Mix (as well as a judge or two), Jamal Edwards, ‘my tram experience’ and many, many, maaaaany others.

It really is a testament to Mystro’s ability as a lyricist to be able to fit so much into one track, whilst making it cohesive and keeping it entertaining the whole time. Long time Mystro collaborator Black Einstein is back behind the boards again this year on the beat and smacks it once again.

Mystro spoke to Hip Hop Kings before his recent gig in Leeds which – judging by what I’ve seen people saying on Twitter – went very well. It’s a good watch, the freestyle is dope – as always from Mr. Mys-Diggi, and it’s good to catch up with what he’s done recently and what’s planned for the near future. Check it below, and don’t forget to hit up Hip Hop Kings

Mystro – Takin’ it to The Bank

Posted in mystro on April 13, 2011 by figmentuk

Mystro has teamed up with Red Kite Learning to bring you ‘Takin’ it to The Bank,’

A new track, produced by ‘Show N’ Prove’ which aims to promote the charity’s campaign for disadvantaged Londoners – focusing on getting them back into work; a homegrown issue that I’m sure we can all appreciate.

Red Kite Learning helps people to address the following pathways out of poverty:

Life Skills – developing personal, functional and employability skills to enable a good quality of life.

Life Experience – learning how to deal with transition and responsibility effectively.

Work Experience – developing careers that go beyond the minimum wage and enable a decent standard of living.

Life Styles – building positive futures that are free from debt, violence, crime and substance misuse.

Last year, Red Kite Learning helped more than 4,800 individuals achieve meaningful education and work outcomes. This included delivery of more than 2,700 skills assessments; more than 1,600 employment preparation qualifications; more than 500 literacy, numeracy, ESOL and I.T. qualifications; and more than 1,000 voluntary and paid work placements. Our man Mys-Diggi had this to say;

“It will be interesting to see whether the banks get behind Red Kite Learning and show some support. We’ve got a tale of two cities on our hands here in London; the best and worst of times. It’s good timing for the banks to make a social statement.”

So, check out the video below which was made by the same guy who did Mystro’s ‘U Live and U Learn’ and ‘Around My Way’ videos – Ian Gamester. and visit the website for Takin’ it to The Bank HERE for more info.

DJ Lok – Mystro; F.D.T Mini Mix

Super DJ Extraordinaire DJ Lok (yes – that title is deserved; I’ve seen him in action!) drops this gem of a mini mix on us and proves his talent as a DJ by showing just how important timing is when mixing.

Lok gives us just long enough with each track to start nodding our heads then before we get too comfortable it’s on to the next, leaving us wanting more and wondering whats next.

If you slept on Mystro’s superb E.P – ‘F.D.T’ the first time round;

Mystro – 2009 UK Rap Up (Produced by Black Einstein) – Official Video

Posted in mystro, UK HIP HOP on January 9, 2010 by figmentuk

The official video to the earlier featured 2009 UK Rap-Up by Mystro (produced by Black Einstein) is now available for your viewing pleasure. (See below)

This man is kind of amazing me at the moment! Not only is he everywhere at once, giving interviews left right and centre but he gives us The F.D.T EP and follows it up with an amazing end of the year tribute in the form of the 09 Rap Up AND finds time to shoot a video to accompany it!?

Mys – you gonna have no nose left if you keep it to the grindstone much longer!

EDIT: – A little thank you note from Mr. Mys Diggi himself;

Thank you so much for supporting this track. I honestly didn’t expect it to make as much noise as it has & can’t thank you enough for helping to make it happen. It’s very humbling.

Happy newy years in case i haven’t said it already and trust – there’s a lot more to come!!

This is just the “Tip of The Mysberg” MUTHA LUVAZ!!
